Corte Madera - Preschool Program
Ages 2.5 to 4
When toddlers enter the preschool program at The
Kid’s Place they are exposed to a variety of new opportunities for development.
There is open access to art materials, allowing children to create independently
and at will. Manipulatives of increasing complexity help children develop their
cognitive skills as well as fine motor skills. Social interactions and communication
are key areas of focus in this class with the explosion of language development
coming from the children. Here is where children learn to share, take turns and
ask for what they want in an effective way. Here is also where true friendships
can begin to develop as children’s social skills blossom alongside their peers.
Our curriculum changes throughout the year in accordance
with the children’s interests. While we have a daily schedule that provides a comfortable
routine for the children - the projects, stories and special events vary based upon
the theme that has been dictated by observing the children’s interests. We encourage
families to participate with projects or events in the classroom and always welcome
a special guest, should someone be an “expert” on something and want to share knowledge
with us.
Something else important happens in this program:
Potty Training! Don’t worry - we have experts here to help you.
