San Anselmo - Toddler Program
Our
top priorities at The Kids' Place in San Anselmo are the safety, health and happiness
of your child. We are here to provide a stimulating environment in which all children
feel loved, valued and eager to explore and discover information. When young children
achieve balance in their lives, they center themselves. They then feel confident
to make independent choices regarding play, friendships and a style of learning.
It is our vision to help a child to understand that he has all the tools he needs
to move forward. It is also a priority to encourage all children to find their voice
and realize that someone will hear them. Understanding your own potential and the
confidence to ask for help when needed are each key tools that make the journey
of education more positive.
Our
2 Year Olds
The
toddler program is unique. There is a one to six child to teacher ratio. Due to
our small size the children get to know each other well. Toddlers are naturally
curious and interested in the world around them. Their attention span can be short.
Although we have developed a daily schedule, it is flexible in terms of activities
to accommodate children's wants and needs. Projects at this age are generally very
hands on. Art, music, stories and science are explored in a variety of ways such
as sensory activities, flannel board stories, circle time, block play and child
directed puppet shows. Creative movement and outdoor play play a major role in the
development of gross motor skills. Our program is a balance between child and teacher
initiated activities, wherein each child will have the opportunity to gain practice
in all areas of development.
